Yay's and Boo's
6 months' unexplained absence from blogworld, and what do I have to show for it? I'll condense the misadventures and milestones and sort them into "yay's" and "boo's":
Almost 2 year's in, and I still love my job! (Yay!) /No grey hair's yet! (Yay!) / My workload has increased substantially (Boo!) / I spent Chinese New Year in Malaysia (Yay!) / Goober left for Singapore in March 07 (Double Boo!) / I have my own office now (Yay!) / I survived another winter in Carlisle (Yay!) / I cut my hair (Yoo!) - ** cant decide if thats a good or bad thing / My German is improving slowly (Yay!) / My Mandarin has not improved at all (Boo!) / I watched an Agatha Christie play with a star studded cast (apparently) and in as much as I'm an avid fan of Christie's murder mystery's, I feel like asking for compensation for the 2 hours of my life - bored witless -that I will never get back (Boo!) / Subway opened a branch 2 mins from my office and it's virtually near enough to hear the sweet whispers of a meatball marinara call out my name (Yay!)
It's amazing how mundane one's life seems when 6 months are condensed into a paragraph. Then again, I didnt feel right to brag about my trip to Ecuador when I helped save 28 Llama's from paochers, or the Amnesty International march where I walked barefoot for 8 miles over rough terrain with 200 other protesters to campaign against child slavery, or when I parasailed down the Eiffel tower to raise money for Aid in Africa, or when I worked for 2 months in Sao Paolo, Brazil to help underpriveledged families obtain basic education and healthcare. Sometimes, things like Subway opening a new branch near my office just outshines everything else. *wink*
