Travel Itchy Again

Yes, it's that 3 month itch to go somewhere, see someplace and explore again. The travel itch.
Eeek... I pondered, I deliberated. I tried to deny the itch! But yes, I gave in and I scratched. And ooooh, it felt good. Itching and scratching analogies aside, what this all means is that I bought a spur of the moment ticket to Prague. Surfed the net, click, click, and before you know it, uh oh!! Booked, paid for, confirmed. First thought: Would my mom freak that I'm backpacking alone?
I always wanted to go to Czechoslovakia as a child (I think, primarily because it was such a cool name!) ... and now, I leave on 14 November. The Czech Republic, and Slovakia. I cant wait.
I will be backpacking solo this time, which, overall, should be an amazing experience. There's no set itenerary, but the rough plan is to fly into Prague, spend some time there, take the train to Budapest, and maybe explore a bit of Hungary later on. If there's time. I am always torn between doing as much as I can, and going to as many places as possible (within budget and reason); or getting to know ONE place intimately, meeting locals there, and chilling. Hmnnm. I will perhaps only know when I get there.

There is a bit of a difference in backpacking solo. Pros and cons abound, but ultimately I reckon it will be a good time to reflect, do things at my own pace, sit in a strange new world with my trusty journal, and hopefully meet loads of people; fellow backpackers and locals. And of course, bond over Czech beer - which is apparently a beautiful brew, and dirt cheap.

I dont know where I'll be staying yet, but hey. The not knowing is half the adventure.

So how far do you think you will get, before you hear the slow moving...shuffle...thud...of the stalking piano! Whilst you try in vain to sleep on your cold train station bench, praying for the company of a lonely homeless alcoholic, she will be there; whispering from the shadows...'Linda...Linda...I have something for you to look at!' And the inevitable scrape of her boot as she moves ever closer!...shuffling and scraping her way towards you. You cannot escape, it is inevitable.

Hahaha...Papa Lazarous needs to get out more. Good name though. Baby Lazarous. What do you reckon? If good old Piano stalks me all the way to Prague, I will no doubt exert my kung-fu skills without reservation.
