This time last week

This time last week, I hired a removal van and drove 200 miles north, away from old friends and loved ones, to start a new job and a new life.
This time last week, I bought a streep map and slowly got acquainted with a new city. I searched for a new home and eventually decided on an old Victorian apartment which I thought, with a little love and D.I.Y, could be restored to its former glory.
This time last week, I stared at my bathroom walls, took measurements, went to the hardware store and bought a ladder, a roller, 5 different brushes; a 2.5 litre can of steam resistant emulsion paint and masking tape.
Today, I am mid week into my new job. I have explored this city on foot and by bus, on the back of my trusty blue bicycle and in the cars of newly found friends. My bathroom has 2 coats of new paint, there are lush green plants near the Victorian bathtub, fresh white towels in my wicker basket and things are looking lovely. I may start re-decorating the living room next. Overall, I still have a few boxes to unpack but I am in no rush; I think I will be here a while.
Gosh, I've come a long way since this time last week...

looking good gal, and great idea to blog instead of emailing (I do that too by the way!). I always liked blogspot better than xanga, but I cant bring myself to shutting down 1 1/2 years worth of blogs posts... so in xanga i will stay.

love the way you & your sis can make pretty so quickly, must be Mum's influence ya? Take care and God bless! =)
