Mrs. X's Appeal

Mrs. X lost her appeal today. I suppose we all knew her chances weren't very good, considering she was already evicted. It's easier to defend an eviction warrant before it's executed, rather than try to overturn it when it's already been carried out. Courts hardly ever go against an executed warrant, but it was worth a try. It's always worth a try, isnt it...despite the odds. I'm gutted though. I feel for her tremendously.....
I respect C for keeping the file open, and for not giving up on Mrs. X despite what anyone said about her chances. It made me think about life, and of some of the things we allow to slip away without a fight. Many people just let go when things get too hard - perhaps because it seems easier to give something up than to wager your strength and your heart against the unknown. Being brave is not in discounting the sense of fear though. Being brave is in doing it afraid.
For what it's worth, at least we spoke up for her. There's nothing worse than to not try, and be left wondering if it could have turned out some other way. "Nevermind the fact that you sacrificed time and effort, it will be insignificant in hindsight. When it all falls away, perhaps it isn't so that what you fought for is what remains, but at least you tried."
"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about the things that matter."

Love you to bits! It's great to hear the positives amidst the disappointment of an unsuccessful appeal. I hope Mrs X finds another accommodation (and work?) situation soon.

Well, Mrs. X will be put on the "officially homeless" list and then its down to waiting for a home, really. Hard for the homeless to rectify their situation coz you cant get a job without a permanent address, and you cant get a permanent address without a job. Pray lor. As you said...at least we know Gods bigger than it all.
